Pickard Dish

Posted Friday, January 20 by Brian

I have a 7 1/2" plate that I purchased at a yard sale. I have discovered from this article that M. Rost LeRoy worked for Pickard during the years of 1898 - 1905. The dish measures 7 1/2" at the widest point and seems to be in very good condition, except there is a depression in the glaze that seems to be from the manufacturing process and not a chip.

I am attaching pictures and would appreciate it, if you could give me some idea of what this plate might be worth.
Thanks so much!

In the other photo you sent (not shown), the marks indicate that the blank porcelain was made by the Haviland Company of France and decorated by Pickard between 1903 and 1905.

Smaller flatter pieces such as this are not as desireable as larger or more vertical pieces that display better. LeRoy was also known for his dark background colors which only cover a small part of this piece. The value would be more in the $75 range.

For more information on Pickard and this artist, see our previous post
