Mettlach Stein 1732
Posted Thursday, July 27 by Brian •

We answered John's question about his other stein earlier this week. Now we can cover his Mettlach stein showing two soldiers with the Imperial Eagle. It is also a .5 liter stein and is signed C. Warth. The text on the lid (not shown) translates roughly from “Lieb Vaterland, magst ruhig sein.” to "Dear Fatherland, may you be quiet", probably in the sense of political peace.
Your stein would probably sell in the $500 to $700 range, probably nearer the top because of the excellent condtition.
