Paul McCobb Bedroom Set by Lane

McCobb Lane 1.jpg Thank you for offering this service. We have a three piece solid walnut bedroom set designed by Paul McCobb and built by the Lane Furniture Company as part of their Delineator Line. We purchased it new in 1962. I remember the salesman telling us, Paul McCobb was the Frank Lloyd Wright of furniture design. It is in excellent condition. There are a few minor blemishes you will find if you really look for them. The hardware is original and complete. We are interested in finding their value as we will be selling the set soon. Mike

McCobb Lane 2.jpg I went through half a dozen auction catalogues and did not find any Paul McCobb pieces by Lane. There were about 40 by Calvin and 10 by Winchendon. One Paul McCobb dresser by Winchendon only sold for $250. Apparently, collectors prefer McCobbs earlier work for Calvin. A McCobb credenza or buffet by Lane recently sold on Ebay for $331.

Paul McCobb was a very popular, very talented and widely acclaimed designer, although some would argue not the pre-eminent furniture designer of the Mid-Century Modern era.

My best guess is that your set would most likely sell in the $1,000-$1,500 range.
